ABOUT

What is SIT?
Spiders in Thailand (SIT) website is a comprehensive online repository of data on spider species found in Thailand. We serve as a free, non-commercial resource for anyone interested in Thai spiders, from arachnologists and researchers to hobbyists and enthusiasts.
Mission
SIT platform facilitates geographical spider distribution checks and enables comparative pictorial identification, especially the reproductive parts, of the spider you found to a real specimen to identify it.
Current Key Features
  • Geographical Spider Distribution: The occurrences of spider species across Thailand were stored and organized. This makes it easy to track the distribution of different spiders.
  • Comparative Pictorial Identification: To aid in accurate species identification, our platform offers pictures of spiders` reproductive organs extracted from taxonomic literature.
  • Image Sources: Spider pictures from open-access resources are directly accessed on our website including external links. For images from non-open access resources, the links to both World Spider Catalog (WSC) and original published sources were also provided.
Copyright and Acknowledgements

At the current state, all pictures on SIT website are in the process of asking for permission from authors. We hope to have all pictures on this website by authors` allowance to fill the part of copyright and acknowledgements in a next version of the website as being updated.
